Jonathan Gaunt’s first golf course, designed in 1989 when he was 25 years old, is operated by Crown Golf – Europe’s largest golf operator. The course was built by Golf Landscapes Limited and Jonathan was not only the architect but also site construction manager.

There are 18 holes on the main course (6646 yards, par 71), 9 holes on the Lannock Links par-3 course and a high quality golf academy/range. Both courses have continued to grow in stature and mature gracefully.

Chesfield Downs is situated on undulating, rolling chalk downland with beautiful views of the surrounding Hertfordshire countryside. It has proven to be one of the most successful 27-hole pay and play facilities in England, providing a challenging test of golf for the low handicapper (where European Ryder Cup Team legend, Ian Poulter, was a member in the early 1990’s) and an enjoyable game for the less experienced player.

The courses boast all year playability due to the underlying, free-draining chalk downland soil.
