Kaskada Golf Resort

Jinacovice, Brno, Czechia

This Jonathan Gaunt designed resort golf course in Brno, Moravia, is a first for the region. Challenging in its nature, the course features gently undulating greens, multiple teeing positions, numerous lakes and strategically placed bunkers – all surrounded by mature oak forest.

The golf resort was built to provide sports and leisure facilities of the highest quality. The courses are arranged to enable players to combine an 18-hole round or three separate 9-hole rounds (total length of 9,655 m). A characteristic feature is the perfect combination of playing areas with the surrounding nature – woodland and water features. There are three 9-hole courses – named Wooden, Stone and Iron. In addition it is possible to play the 6-hole public golf course, and use the impressive multi-level sheltered driving range, three putting greens and two chipping greens.

On a site developed with partial Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and European Union funding by local mechanical engineering company Alta a.s., the 27-hole golf course, 6-hole golf academy and 300 metre driving range has been built to a very high standard by Czech contractors under the supervision of British project manager, Chris Johnson.

All facilities were opened for play in 2007 and, since then, the courses have been host to numerous amateur and professional tournaments. The Wooden & Stone Courses were voted Czech Republic’s Best Golf Course in 2016 by World Golf Awards™, which celebrates and rewards excellence in golf tourism through their annual awards programme. World Golf Awards™ is part of World Travel Awards™.
